—Start in the Village (1¾ miles north) at Millstone Antiques, specializing in 18th to mid-19th c. furniture, original fine art and decorative collectibles and a large selection of Vermont and New England landscapes. Open daily.

—Next head north on Route 7A another mile and look for Comollo Antiques on the right. American and European furniture, fine paintings, plus folk art, posters and Christmas items. Always a broad selection of bronzes, mirrors, ceramics, clocks and estate jewelry. Now a great selection of unique wines. Open daily.

—Head north again on Historic Route 7A another mile and Mark Reinfurt's Equinox Antiques will be on your right. Offering 18th & 19th century American formal furniture, European treasures, fine paintings, Oriental rugs, Chinese export, porcelains, Shaker furniture and related decorative accessories. Open daily, 10 am to at least 5 pm, or call for an appointment.

—Before you venture much further, you must be ready for lunch. Head back south on Route 7A and have lunch at the Little Rooster Cafe.

—Head back north on Main Street one block, then turn left onto Route 30. Travel four miles north to the south edge of Dorset and look for the entrance on your left to Marie Miller American Quilts, with its outstanding collection of 19th and early 20th century quilts, all in pristine condition and guaranteed authentic. Open most days 10 am to 5 pm.

—Head north again on Route 30 and to Route 315 and look for the Country Gallery Antiques with its extensive selection of handpicked Scandinavian scrubbed pine antiques, Gustavian Grey and original paint in their 7 barns. Armoires for storage/entertainment, beds, farm and dining tables, hutches, desks. Shipping countrywide. Call first (802) 394-7753.
