The face behind the food

Chris & QuincyChris, the chef/innkeeper, has built her reputation for culinary skills during her 21 years of innkeeping. She grew up with a dad who owned a gourmet food store, she has always been around good food, and cooking is her passion and hobby.

Chris published her first cookbook in 1992, and it continues to be well received. In addition, she has been featured in national publications such as: Food & Wine, Colonial Homes, Yankee Magazine, Yankee Magazine’s Travel Guide, Living Without, New York Times, Boston Globe, etc. She was honored as a Yankee Magazine "Great New England Cook", and chosen to be a DuPont test chef. Her granola recipe was the inspiration for a cereal made by the Kellogg Company called "Inn at Ormsby Hill Blend".

Guests can typically find Chris cooking up a storm in the kitchen off the Conservatory - but you may have to ask her to turn down the volume of the music!

Chris is shown with Quincy - her flat-coated retriever (who is not found in the kitchen). For those guests who need their dog fix - just ask for Quincy and he will greet you with a smile that you will not believe.
